24th Géo'rizon study day - "Sports areas

On April 26 , the 24th Géo'rizon© study day will be held, organized by the Geography & Planning Department of theUFR Sciences et Montagne atUniversité Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB). After "Latin America", "The Street", "The Balkans", "The Island", "Geography and the Arts", "Canals and Dams", "East Asia", "Drink! Drinks around the world", "Regionalism and separatism in Europe", "East Africa (Tanzania, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti)", "Diaspora(s)", "Metropolises of Europe", "Anti-world(s)", "Se perdre en forêt", "Montagnes des Sud", "Géographie des crises" and "Le Monde indien", "Un Monde de déchets" and "Les géographes et le changement climatique", "Géographie des célébrations, célébrer la géographie! ", "Geography of Poverty", "Six Years after the Arab Spring" and "Polar Worlds", the Geography & Planning Department is delighted to welcome 4 speakers on the theme of " Sports Spaces".

ON THE PROGRAM

As has been the custom since the first event, in December 2006, four speakers from other universities (Franche-Comté, Grenoble Alpes, and Littoral Côte d'Opale) will be taking part throughout the day, before debating from 4.55pm to 5.30pm at the final round-table " Sport as a geographical object ":

  • 8:30am - 9:50am : Julien MIGOZZI (ATER, ENS Paris and PhD student, Université Grenoble Alpes) will give a talk entitled " Pour une géographie en crampons : le rugby sud-africain, miroir des inégalités sociales et enjeu de transformation " (" For a geography in spikes: South African rugby, mirror of social inequalities and a challenge for transformation ").
  • 10:15 - 11:35: Pascal GILLON (Senior Lecturer, Université de Franche-Comté) will pose the question " The Olympic Games: geopolitical space and place of globalization? "
  • 1.45pm - 3.05pm: Antoine LE BLANC (Senior Lecturer, Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale) on " LGBT+ sports associations and competitions: networks and strategies for inclusive sport, between openings and closures ".
  • 3.25pm - 4.45pm: Philippe BOURDEAU (University Professor, Grenoble Alpes University) on " Europe's playground? The "practices/spaces "dynamic in mountain sports tourism ".
