31st Chambéry First Novel Festival

From May 24 to 27, 2018, the 31st edition of the Festival du premier roman de Chambéryorganized by theLectures Plurielles association.

22 Francophone and European authors will be on hand to share their first novel with you: meetings, debates, musical readings, literary ball, workshops, literary aperitifs, book signings... A way for everyone to discover new authors, explore new discoveries and celebrate books. Brigitte Giraud, this year's guest of honor, and five authors from previous editions, Arno Bertina, Olivier Bourdeaut, René Frégni, Wilfied N'Sondé and Valérie Perrin, will be present during these four days of festivities. .

This year, the Festival,Université Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) andUniversité Grenoble-Alpes collaborated on the first novels in the 2017/2018 Italian selection. Accompanied by their professors, Cristina Vignali Poli, lecturer at theUFR Lettres, Langues et Sciences Humaines and researcher at the Langages, Littératures, Sociétés, Études Transfrontalières et Internationales (LLSETI) laboratory, and Florence Courriol, professor in the bi-national Grenoble/Padova Master's program in Literature and Italian at the UFR de Langues étrangères in Grenoble, Italian-speaking students from both universities wrote a press review and translated an extract from each of the first novels in this year's Italian shortlist. The students involved in the project will co-lead the translation workshop scheduled during the Festival, on Saturday May 26 at 2pm, guided by Florence Courriol, in the presence of the Italian winner, Filippo de Matteis.
