[CANCELLED] Amphis Pour Tous - From anorexia to obesity: a brain blind to major body changes

march 19, 2020 7:00 PM - march 19, 2020 8:00 PM

Following the government's announcement on Saturday, March 14, 2020 that the Coronovirus (COVID-19) epidemic has been downgraded to stage 3, the upcoming "Amphis pour Tous" conferences have been cancelled for the coming months and postponed until next season.

The conference "From anorexia to obesity: a brain blind to major body changes", presented by Morgane Metral, Senior Lecturer at the Laboratoire Inter-universitaire de Psychologie - Personnalité, Cognition, Changement Social (LIP-PC2S), UFR Lettres, Langues et Sciences Humaines, will take place on Thursday March 19, 2020 at 7pm in Faverges-Seythenex.

It will also be held on Tuesday June 9, 2020 at 6:30pm at Archamps Technopole.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Despite significant weight loss and a slimmer body, people suffering from anorexia nervosa generally feel fatter than they are. More surprisingly, they move as if this were actually the case. Despite their opposite weight problems, recent research suggests a parallel between obesity and anorexia nervosa. Patients suffering from obesity also exhibit major weight variations, associated with body overestimation and atypical movements. What are the common dysfunctions that could contribute to the oversizing of body representation in these two pathologies? This will lead us to discuss our brain's blindness to major body modifications.
