Fête du droit: sport and law

Since 2016 the Conférence des Doyens has been inviting all professionals, players in the world of law and the general public to take part in the Fête du Droit, which takes place every year in the third week of March. The Faculty of Law atUniversité Savoie Mont Blanc is taking part in the Fête du Droit by organizing events on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 10am to 8:30pm on the Jacob-Bellecombette campus.

Objective: raise awareness of the law, promote law courses and law students

The event is sponsored by Philip Fitzgerald, a former RC Toulon rugby player and Scottish international, who holds a doctorate in law and is now a member of the Toulon Bar.

The program

  • 10am-1pm: selections for the moot competition / Amphitheatre 11 000. Public access subject to availability
  • 1:30-3:30 pm: outdoor orienteering race[registration] / Starts from the sports hall changing rooms, can be retreated to the buildings
  • 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm: indoor climbing workshop / Registration prerequisite: mastery of lead belaying or top-roping[registration] / Halle des sports
  • 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.: indoor yoga-mindfulness initiation/demonstration[registration] / Salle de danse
  • 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm: introduction/demonstration of indoor body-ease techniques[registration] / Salle de danse
  • 16:30-17:30: women's futsal demonstration / Halle des sports. Public welcome, subject to availability
  • 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.: Round table "Climbing, supervision and responsibilities in mountain sports"[registration] (Moderator: J.F. Joye / Speakers: P. Yolka, F. Juarez, L. Clerc-Renaud) / Halle des sports
  • 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm: Round table "The law as a regulator of excesses in sport" (Moderator: J.F. Dreuille / Speaker: C. Chaussard) / Amphitheatre 19 000. Public welcome, subject to availability
  • 6:15pm-7:15pm: final of the pleading competition / Amphitheatre 19 000. Public access subject to availability
  • 7:15pm-8:15pm: Prize-giving ceremony for the orienteering race and advocacy competition, concert by Bazaar Nomad (Jazz Manouche) and closing cocktail party / Salle 20 020. By invitation only.

Gala closes at 8:30pm (premises and parking lots close at 9pm).
