EDYTEM study days: Lake territories and landscapes, from lowland to mountain lakes

november 14, 2019 08:30 - November 15, 2019 18:30

On November 14 and 15, 2019,Université Savoie Mont Blanc 's Environnements, Dynamiques et Territoires de la Montagne (EDYTEM) laboratory is organizing study days on lake territories and landscapes, from plain lakes to mountain lakes. These two days will take place in the Pôle Montagne on the Bourget-du-Lac campus (Amphi and room 110).

The aim of these study days is to bring together researchers who approach lakes from the angle of social issues. With a view to reviewing the state of research on lakes in the humanities and social sciences (HSS), the aim is to bring together disciplinary perspectives and case studies, in order to analyze the relationships maintained by societies with lakes, whether on the plains, in the foothills or in the mountains. Across the board, the aim is to arrive at a detailed, global analysis of the issues structuring lake territories and landscapes.

Spread over two days, including a half-day field trip (Lac du Bourget), the format of these days is designed to encourage maximum exchanges between participants, with oral presentations primarily intended as a support for scientific exchanges. As a result, only around twenty papers will be presented, organized around a single plenary session, with each presentation lasting 20 minutes.
