CDPPOC Seminar - Iatrogenic risk: What issues, what compensation, what procedures for drug victims?

March 2, 2018 09:00 - march 2, 2018 18:00

On Friday March 2, the Centre de Droit Privé et Public des Obligations et de la Consommation is organizing a seminar on "Risque iatrogène: Quelle problématique, quelle réparation, quelles procédures pour les victimes de médicaments?" on the Jacob-Bellecombette campus.

About the seminar

Day in honor of the "Liliane Daligand" class of the Master of Private Law, Personal Injury Law course

Under the supervision of : Ms Laurence Clerc-Renaud - MCF in private law, Université Savoie Mont Blanc

Distilbene, Hepatitis B vaccine, Levothyrox, Mediator, Depakine, 3rd and 4th generation contraceptive pills, etc. Who today hasn't heard of these drugs, which are at the heart of legal and media news, and sometimes at the heart of controversy? How can we compensate for the "undesirable effects" of these molecules when they strike these "forced consumers" affected by pathologies that are often severely disabling? Who is responsible, and on what basis? Who should bear the burden of compensation for iatrogenic risk? The manufacturer? Prescriber? National solidarity? What procedures and strategies can be implemented to achieve this compensation objective?
The seminar will explore the theoretical and practical dimensions of this highly topical issue, in the presence of specialist practitioners and academics.
