On Thursday, December 13, 2018, Mickaël BUFFART, a doctoral student in management science at theInstitut de Recherche en Gestion et Économie (IREGE ), will submit his thesis " Interactions between entrepreneurs and their environment in the development of their entrepreneurial project ".
The defense will take place at 9:30 am, room 103, at IREGE on the Annecy campus.
Summary of the thesis
Most new businesses fail to sustain their activity beyond the first few years following their emergence. Several renowned entrepreneurship influencers suggest that these failures are largely due to the unsuitability of entrepreneurial projects to the reality of the environment. In this thesis, we study entrepreneurs' initial efforts to interact with certain actors (potential customers, financiers) in their environment and develop their entrepreneurial project. These initial efforts are partly responsible for the development and survival of the entrepreneurial project. At the same time, an overload of information during these interactions may, on the contrary, slow down development and alter the growth ambitions of entrepreneurs.
