CANCELLED - Climate Fresco Workshop - Annecy Campus
January 19 / 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
2022, the IPCC reports are increasingly alarming and the fear of the climate crisis and its consequences is real. To act on climate change, we must first understand it. What are the mechanisms at play? Which activities impact the planet and how? What physical and chemical phenomena result from it?
Discover more thanks to the Climate Fresco workshop, led by USMB scientific experts! Organized by the Annecy campus library and the Campus 1.5 USMB collective, the workshop will be divided into 3 teams, and will take place Thursday January 19th at 4pm in your BU.
In front of you, a large white sheet of paper and a deck of 52 cards. On each card, data taken from a scientific reference base, the one that guides the choices of political and economic decision makers today, the famous IPCC report, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Once the cards were placed in the right places, it was time for the artists to personalize the fresco with felt pens and colored pencils!
Want to extend your reflection? Two exhibitions await you in the hall of your BU until February 27. And to go further, the BU has a selection of books (essays, novels, comics) that will make you think about and imagine the world of tomorrowand the bibliographies to go deeper into the subject: Causes, Consequences, Actions and Climate in fiction.
WHAT IS A CLIMATE MURAL?
Because it is necessary to understand a problem in order to find solutions and take action, the Climate Fresco is a participatory awareness-raising workshop, which allows people to understand how climate change works and how to take effective action as citizens.
