ABOUT THE ORCHESTRA AND THE MUSICIAN

Created in 984, the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie is a professional chamber orchestra, composed of 23 permanent musicians (19 strings, 2 oboes, 2 horns), under the musical direction of Pieter-Jelle de Boer since September 2021. With 80 concerts given each year, it designs and develops a range of concerts for a varied audience, performed throughout the year in Savoie, Haute-Savoie, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, France and abroad.

Frédéric Piat
Born on November 6, 1980, Frédéric Piat began playing the violin at the Nevers Conservatory at the age of seven, in parallel with the piano, which he has been practicing since the age of four. He obtained his gold medal in violin in 1997, as well as his piano medal two years later. He developed a solid orchestral experience, thanks to his participation in programs with the Opera of Lyon, as well as with the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, or the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse... In 2008, he became first violin with the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie. Since then, he continues to integrate structures such as the Toulon Opera, the Saint Etienne Opera, the National Orchestra and the Lyon Opera, as well as various smaller ensembles.
