For the first time, UNITA is organizing a thesis popularization competition based on the French "Ma Thèse en 180 secondes" model. For this first edition of My 3-min PhD Thesis, four female and one male doctoral students will take part in the exercise, presenting their thesis in 3 minutes and... in English!
The selection for theuniversité Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) will take place on Thursday June 15, 2023 at 2pm at theIAE Annecy (Amphi 12). Candidates will present their work to a jury of professionals from the academic, business and media worlds.
Candidates will present their work to a jury of professionals from the worlds of academia, business and the media, who will select the two doctoral candidates who will take part in the international final in Pau on September 22, 2023.
They will be competing alongside candidates selected by member universities of the UNITA alliance:Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA),Università degli studi di Torino (Italy),Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain),Universidade da Beira Interior (Portugal), Universitatea de Vest Din Timisoara (Romania), Università degli studi di Brescia (Italy), Universitatea Transilvania (Romania), and Universidad Pública de Navarra (Spain).
To prepare for this competition, 12 hours of coaching and training are planned, as for the French version of the competition. They are led by Pascale Balland, in charge of scientific and technical culture at USMB, as well as Jacques Jaussaud and Jean-Marc Sotiropoulos fromUniversité de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA).
This highly formative experience enables doctoral students to strengthen their oral communication skills with an English-speaking audience, and in future, thanks to the Alliance UNITA, to give greater visibility to their research work, both in France and internationally.
