Students commit to the climate" day - Discussions, conference and upcoming projects - Campus Bourget
January 26 / 11:30 am - 7:00 pm
To finish its animation cycle on "The climate in danger", the University Library of the Bourget campus organizes a day specially dedicated to the student commitment. After the European Week for Waste Reduction in November, here is a new time to exchange together on the issue of the climate crisis and how each of us can act at his or her level.
From 11:30 a.m, meet the student associations Blairoudeurs Chambéry, Univert and the collective Campus 1.5 USMB for exchanges around the theme "A green and responsible campus. Take the time to come and exchange and discover all about their current and future projects!
12:00 - 12:30 pm, Lily Collet, a 2nd year Life Sciences undergraduate student, offers the mini-conference "Student engagement, what to do locally?". Passionate about nature, hiking, philosophy, sports and reading, Lily is very sensitive to environmental protection. She likes to get involved in projects in order to contribute to the respect of the living and to limit our impact on global warming. In addition to her studies, Lilly is in charge of the communication department of Campus 1.5 and is a cheftaine for the Scouts éclaireurs de la nature in Chambéry. This is what we call a great example of student commitment!
"What counts is to make efforts, those that are right for us. The main thing is not to be perfect but to do the best we can, with our means, our desires, our struggles. during this conference, we will be able to reflect together on many individual avenues of reflection, ideas, choices, and I will explain what I have put in place in my life, and what allows me to have today a carbon footprint of 2.7 Gt of CO2 emitted per year that is 2.5 times less than the average of the French."
And to finish the day, a Climate Fresco workshop awaits you from 3:30 pm to 7 pmhwith 3 members of the Campus 1.5 USMB collective, all professors-researchers of our laboratories EDYTEM, LLSETI and LIP-PC2S. The workshop is on registration, so go ahead and reserve your seats!
