HELPING YOU TO SUCCEED....
IN A UNIVERSITY OF A HUMAN SCALE

To facilitate student success, and especially those in their first year of the Licence programme, the Université Savoie Mont Blanc promotes teaching in small groups and the provision of tutorials.

The University's medium size means that it can provide customised and individualised course profiles and provide easier contact with the teaching staff. Through orientation and re-orientation processes, with appropriate link courses for moving between programmes, everything is done to help students to develop their own specific course profile.

There is moreover a specific school-leavers admission service to provide help and orientation for those coming to university with a school-leaving certificate (the French baccalaureateor equivalent).

A « GUIDE » TO MAKE STUDENT LIFE EASIER

There is one single student information point on each of the three campuses. Open to all, it exists to provide a welcome, to listen as well as to inform, with the general aim of making life easier at all stages of a student's life. It provides information and documentation, gives advice concerning administrative procedures and directs you to the right person for specific matters. Questions concerning student housing, transport, leisure and cultural activities and organisations, international mobility, social and financial student aid schemes,  health matters, and questions of citizenship... for all these, you should resort to the « guide ».

DEVELOPING A SENSE OF RESPONSIBLE CITIZENSHIP

Being a student means also getting involved in university life, which can by achieved in many ways: by becoming a tutor (a tutor to a student, or working in the library or in sports or preventive medicine), by taking part in University events (open days, exhibitions...), by seeking election to the University Councils or by becoming a member of one of the many student associations, whose activities are supported by a special Student Social Fund (Fonds Social de Développement des Initiatives Etudiantes, or FSDIE)

Student Associations
These play an essential rôle in campus and university life. You can find a list of the student associations on the Université Savoie Mont Blanc website : Student associations.
