June 16, 2020 1:30 pm - June 16, 2020 3:30 pm

"Developing new recreational and tourist offers based on the preservation of natural heritage" is the project - supported byEurope, the French State and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region as part of a LEADER program - that USMB's Pôle Tourisme Montagne Inventive and the EDYTEM laboratory are carrying out over the next two years for the Massif des Bauges (PNRMB).

Like all regional projects piloted by the USMB Tourism Pole, it mobilizes USMB teaching staff, researchers and students to work with local players, communities and users in a multi-disciplinary approach that combines academia, local knowledge and tourism service design.

Since autumn 2019, students in the tourism programs at theIAE Savoie Mont Blanc and STAPS of theUFR Sciences et Montagneand researchers, including a doctoral student supervised by the laboratory. EDYTEM carried out research (literature review and international comparative studies) and interviews with park stakeholders and users to understand the conditions for the emergence of natural heritage tourism offers, and to identify best practices that could be transferred to the Massif des Bauges.

On the basis of the research carried out, differentiating offers for the park have been devised.

A summary of these 8 months' work will be presented to representatives of the Parc Naturel du Massif des Bauges and to the project steering group made up of local economic and tourism players on June 16 in the form of a web-conference.

At the end of this presentation, the members of the steering committee will decide which avenues to explore for the future of the project.
