On Monday December 2, 2024 from 7:30 to 8:30 pm, La Turbine sciences is organizing a meeting as part of the Brasserie des Sciences conferences at the Bistro des Tilleuls (13 Chemin de la Prairie, Annecy) on the theme "Que la force soit avec les bosons!". The talk will be given by Narei Lorenzo Martinez, a researcher at Annecy Laboratory of Particle Physics (LAPP).
How do bosons weave the forces that surround us? When we look at matter on a subatomic scale, we discover a whole zoology of particles, which have been studied since the 20th century by the physicists from all over the world. Among them are bosons, the mediators of forces. But what exactly is a force? What part do bosons play in this symphony? What are their properties? Why is it so important to study them? Let's answer all these questions together.
The Brasserie des sciences meetings offer the general public the chance to discuss current scientific topics with researchers and experts in a convivial atmosphere. They are organized by La Turbine sciences and its partners, and take place one Monday a month from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at the Bistro des Tilleuls in Annecy.
