A MAJOR PROMOTER OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The research carried out in the 19 laboratories of the Université Savoie Mont Blanc has enabled many socio-economic partners to have access to a world seeking quality innovation and thereby to increase their competitiveness.
Université Savoie Mont Blanc wishes to make the innovation coming from its research laboratories accessible to all the economic actors in the region.
Our laboratories have developed research partnerships with enterprises and local authorities and other organisations covering a whole range of activities. In 2014, 124 contracts were signed between the laboratories and various socio-economic partners.
Université Savoie Mont Blanc has developed a portfolio of 24 categories of patents which are pending, essentially in the field of engineering sciences.
Help with business creation
Thanks to its work on technology transfer and encouragement of start-ups, Université de Savoie Mont Blanc is there to help anyone with a promising project, whether a researcher or a student. Université Savoie Mont Blanc is a founding member of ‘SATT GIFT’ (Société d’accélération de transfert de technologies Grenoble Alpes Innovation Fast Track) .
COOPERATION OF DOCTORAL STUDENTS AND RESEARCHERSWITH OUTSIDE COMPANIES
Doctoral theses undertaken in industrial or other socio-economic partnerships
Doctoral students at the University can work on a thesis in partnership with enterprises or local government agencies or associations, thus participating directly in business expansion and local and regional economic development.
RESEARCH AND INNOVATION DIPLOMA
This diploma enables students at the master’s level as well as company employees to develop applied research activities within the company or in a research laboratory on a project proposed by the company concerned. For business and industrial leaders, such an arrangement stimulates technological innovation and, particularly in the case of small and medium-sized enterprises and industries, provides them with access to the know-how of the research laboratories.
THE ADVANTAGES OF SUCH TRANSER TO LOCAL AND REGIONAL PARTNERS
Université Savoie Mont Blanc has forged close partnership links with the authorities in charge of economic development in this region in order to promote the development of public/private research partnerships, working closely with bodies such as the Assembly of the Pays de Savoie, the economic agencies of the two departments of Savoie and Haute-Savoie, the ‘technopoles’ Savoie-Technolac and Archamps, the CRITT of Savoie, THESAME, etc.
Université Savoie Mont Blanc and its partners sponsor events which enable companies to keep up to date with advances in research in its laboratories. These events include the series of public conferences on « Synergies in Research and Innovation ».
