Objectives
Adaptive materials have additional perception or actuation properties compared with conventional materials. Composites are key materials in many fields (transport, aeronautics, renewable energies, etc.). Their combination enables the emergence of so-called "adaptive meta-composites". By integrating structural and multi-functional properties, these materials offer tailor-made properties for specific specifications. However, their industrial emergence is hampered by a lack of design tools. The ASTRIA project focuses on the development of decision-support tools for their robust design. The project covers numerical aspects (modeling, simulation, management of uncertain data and control), experimental aspects (production of functional models, model identification and recalibration) and application aspects (development of operational devices).
