The Fédération de rerecherche son the energy efficiency of bâtiments (FRESBE) brings together a number ofUniversité Savoie Mont Blanc research laboratories and players working in the field of building energy efficiency, with a view to contributing to the issue: " How can we design, renovate and use buildings using minimal resources and energy to provide maximum service?

Created byUniversité Savoie Mont Blanc in 2014, FRESBE aims to consolidate, develop, promote and coordinate research in the field of building energy efficiency by crossing engineering science approaches with those of the human and social sciences, economics and legal sciences.

At both national and international level, the aim is to pool knowledge and intensify complementarities, thereby fostering the emergence of innovative cross-disciplinary research initiatives to meet the challenges of energy efficiency in buildings.

FRESBE is therefore a transdisciplinary, multi-site federation at the service of its partners for jointly defined scientific projects.

Some areas of application:

  • Residents, housing & energy performance
  • Smart connected objects (security, privacy and trust)
  • Big data and how to centralize and manage feedback to fuel multidisciplinary research
  • Performance assessment
  • Energy intermittency, storage and consumption
  • Behavioral change and education

Some FRESBE application projects :

Local energy self-sufficiency

  • Energy self-sufficiency for villages
  • Eco-parks
  • Renewable energies and cities (right to the sun, etc.)
  • Energy networks (heating networks, etc.)
  • Connected greenhouse

Energy-efficient rehabilitation and monitoring of buildings from design to operation

  • Housing, residents and energy performance
  • Performance assessment
  • Energy intermittency, storage and consumption
  • Large-scale rehabilitation of buildings
