SOLAR ACADEMY Graduate School

Monday, October 19, 2020, 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm - Helios Building, Le Bourget-Du-Lac Campus, France

Monday, October 19, 2020 will see the official launch of theUniversity Research School (EUR) Solar Academy de l'Université Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB), in the presence of the project partners (Consortium USMB/ CEA et CNRS) and the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR), in the Hélios building, within INES.

A reference for solar energy

This EUR positions the USMB and its INES partners(CEA, CNRS) as France's leading university for solar energy.

This EUR is one of 24 projects selected by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation as part of the second wave of the Programme d'Investissement d'Avenir (PIA3). This scheme from academics, benefits from financial support for 10 years. It is designed as a academics through research and for research, with 2 years of master's studies and 3 years of doctoral studies. The Solar Academy Master's degree will have two tracks, one more engineering-oriented (exploiting resources, integrating buildings into the city, digital and data sciences) and the other business-oriented (combining law, economics and sociology).

Joint courses will enable students and doctoral students following the "Engineering" pathway to be trained in the issues of economic models and incentive policies for the dissemination of solar energy. Conversely, future economists and legal experts will be made aware of the problems of technical and technological obstacles.

To achieve this, USMB draws on the skills and scientific recognition of 7 laboratories(LOCIE, LEPMI, LAMA, LISTIC, IREGE, Centre de Recherche en Droit Antoine Favre and LLSETI), the teaching resources of 5 structures at academics (Polytech Annecy-Chambéry, IAE Savoie Mont Blanc, Faculté de droit, UFR Sciences et Montagne, IUT de Chambéry) and the complementarities developed since the creation of INES in 2004 with its co-founding partners, in particular the CEA and the INES platform.

The launch day will provide an opportunity to officially inaugurate the project in the presence of the partners and the ANR, as well as to hear testimonials from other EURs and exchange views with participants.

To coincide with the inauguration, the first Scientific Solar Summer School will be held on the Bourget-Du-Lac campus from October 19 to 23, 2020[Find out more].

The University Research School (EUR) project is led by professors Monika WOLOSZYN and Christophe MÉNÉZO.

As the number of seats is limited due to the health crisis, a broadcast of the launch with the possibility of an exchange with the audience has been organized[registration required].

A connection link will be sent to participants.
