MSII-1 Thermodynamic and structural characterization of materials and applications

This theme aims to produce thermodynamic and structural data of metallic compounds and oxides, to establish phase equilibrium diagrams of binary and higher order systems, and to build databases for thermodynamic modelling of phase equilibria (CALPHAD method). The objective is then to use this knowledge in the laboratory for the preparation of innovative materials and to contribute to the control and optimization of industrial processes: synthesis and characterization of new type catalysts, innovative materials for the realization of SAW devices (substrate and electrodes), design of sensors for toxic and/or explosive gases, contribution to the constitution of databases (Zircaloy) for the research in nuclear safety.
