OLD Thermodynamic and structural characterization of materials and applications

Coordinator: Marc Lomello

This theme aims to generate thermodynamic and structural data on metal and oxide compounds, establish phase equilibrium diagrams for binary and higher-order systems, and build up databases for thermodynamic modeling of phase equilibria (CALPHAD method). The aim is then to use this knowledge in the laboratory to prepare innovative materials, and to contribute to the control and optimization of industrial processes: synthesis and characterization of new type catalysts, innovative materials for SAW devices (substrate and electrodes), design of toxic and/or explosive gas sensors, contribution to the creation of databases (Zircaloy) for nuclear safety research.
