OLD Thermo-mechanical modeling of materials

Referent: Emile Roux

Fine, predictive modeling of deformation manufacturing processes generally requires an upstream phase to understand the thermomechanical behavior of materials. This theme focuses on the mechanical behavior of materials, often combining experimental and numerical approaches. In some projects, it is upstream of the "Product/process optimization" theme. Whatever the transformation or shaping process, knowledge of the material plays a key role in process control. Work is therefore underway to better understand, apprehend and model the physico-thermo-mechanical behavior of materials on several scales.
