The fine and predictive modelling of deformation manufacturing processes generally involves an upstream phase of understanding the thermomechanical behaviour of materials. This theme focuses on the mechanical behaviour of materials by combining often mixed approaches: experimental and numerical. It is upstream of the "Product/process optimization" theme on some projects. Whatever the transformation or shaping process, knowledge of the material plays a key role in the control of the process. Work is thus carried out to better understand, apprehend and model the physico-thermo-mechanical behaviour of materials at several scales.
