The University Diploma in French Studies (DUEF) is a semester-long course aimed at anyone who wants to learn French as a foreign language (FLE) and deepen their knowledge of French culture in an intensive way, while obtaining a university diploma.
Course organization for 2026/27:
12-week course (20 hours/week)
- Intensive French language courses(180 hours) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Thematic workshop (20 hours), from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. one day a week (day determined according to level at the start of the school year)
- Tutoring and/or cultural activities (20 hours)
- Independent French as a Foreign Language activities on an online platform ( 10 hours)
- In person on the campus of the University of Savoie Mont Blanc in Chambéry (Jacob-Bellecombette)
- Two sessions per year: September to December / January to April
- Group of 10 to 18 students
Course content:
French language courses cover five levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), from A1 to C1, and enable students to develop the four French language skills (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking, and writing).
Each session allows students to study and validate one level of the CEFR.
Each validated session earns 30 ECTS credits.
2025/26 CALENDAR: (registration closed)
Second semester: Levels A2 to C1 (no complete beginners)
– training from January 19 to April 24, 2026
– final exams during the week of April 27, 2026
– breaks from February 14 to 22 and April 4 to 12
2026/27 CALENDAR:
First semester: Levels A1 to B2
– training from September 14 to December 11, 2026
– final exams from December 14 to 17, 2026
– week-long break (dates to be confirmed)
Second semester: Levels A2 to C1 (no complete beginners)
– Training from January to April 2027 (dates to be confirmed)
– Final exams at the end of April 2027 (dates to be confirmed)
– Teaching breaks (dates to be confirmed)
REGISTRATION FEES 2026/27*:
– €1,900 per semester
– €3,600 for an academic year (registration for both semesters at the same time)
This fee includes:
– FLE courses, workshops, tutoring/cultural activities, access to the online platform, as described above.
– Access to various university services such as: library and university restaurants, international student welcome and integration service, preventive medicine, sports service, cultural activities, etc.
This fee does not include (non-exhaustive list):
– Course textbook
– Student Life and Campus Contribution for 2026/27 (CVEC of €105 in 2025/26), mandatory for university enrollment. The Welcome and Integration Service will offer a workshop to help you obtain this at the start of the academic year
– Compulsory personal liability insurance certificate, valid for the duration of the course
*Refugeesand asylum seekers are eligible for a 50% discount on courses and exemption from CVEC fees upon presentation of valid official documentation.

REGISTRATION FOR 2026/27:
Enrollment in the DUEF is open to anyone over the age of 18 who has a high school or university diploma.
1. Complete the registration form and provide copies of the following documents:
- Identification document (passport, identity card, residence card)
- Most recent diploma obtained (high school or university diploma) translated into French, English, or Romance languages
- Birth certificate extract (only for non-European citizens) translated into French, English, or Romance languages
2. Make the payment
– Standard registration: deposit of €500 (semester registration) or €900 (year)
– Registration with VISA application: full payment of €1,900 (semester registration) or €3,600 (year)

1. Contactthe Campus France office in your country of origin to find out about the procedure and requirements for obtaining a VISA.
2. Create your electronic file on the Études en France platform. You can upload the registration certificate provided by the ACCENTS registrar's office.
