The CST doctoral school offers a academics scientific program that aims to explore the complexities and interrelationships between culture, society and territories.
The block seminars offered by the doctoral school provide students with an exceptional opportunity to explore specific research-related themes in depth through interdisciplinary reading.
Here's what you can expect from these block seminars:
- Series of one-week block seminars: Each block seminar takes place over a full week and is entirely devoted to a specific research theme. Participants will have the opportunity to attend a series of talks given by leading researchers in the field, each bringing his or her own unique perspective on the subject.
- Interdisciplinary vision: Each day of the week is devoted to a different vision of the theme, presented by a researcher from a different discipline. This encourages an interdisciplinary approach, enabling participants to explore the theme from different angles and gain a more complete understanding.
- Mandatory participation : If you choose to register for a block seminar, you must attend the entire seminar. Attendance is mandatory for every session of the week. This ensures total immersion in the subject and active participation. Depending on your career path, you should take at least 2 20-hour seminars during your doctorate.
- Validation through involvement: The main objective is the acquisition of knowledge. To validate a block seminar, it is essential to participate actively. This means being motivated, committed and playing an active role during the sessions. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, take part in discussions and interact with researchers.
In short, block seminars offer full immersion in specific areas of research, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary exploration and active participation. They provide a valuable opportunity for doctoral students to develop their understanding of themes related to culture, societies and territories, while interacting with leading researchers.
