Access the archives of the 19th century British Parliament
Contents: the corpus comprises over 80,700 digitized parliamentary documents produced by theHouse of Commons between 1801 and 1900. It is a rich primary source for the study of the British Empire in the 19th century and its relations with the world.
The documents described by a thesaurus specific to the database fall into several categories:
- bills, royal commission reports,
- committee reports, accounts and miscellaneous documents,
- command documents presented to Parliament (1833-1900)
Access via the ProQuest platform also enables free interrogation of Hansard, the official report of all British parliamentary debates.
