Contents: PubMed, developed since 1988 by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), is a bibliographic search service providing access to over 25 million records, dating back to 1946. PubMed is the leading search engine for bibliographic data in all areas of biology and medicine. PubMed is free, and provides access to the MEDLINE bibliographic database of citations and abstracts of biomedical research articles. Most citations contain a link to the full article when freely available (e.g. in PubMed Central).
