Contents: This package presents a broad overview of French historiography on a particularly rich period in French and European history, from the fall of the monarchy in 1789 to the collapse of the Napoleonic Empire and the Restoration of 1815. It brings together works by several learned societies (Société des études robespierristes, Fondation et Institut Napoléon) and specialist and general publishers. The diversity of approaches covers both the French Revolution and the First Empire, from political, sociological, economic and military perspectives, as well as diplomatic, administrative, religious and cultural ones. This offering bears witness to the dynamism of research on this period in France and worldwide, with a notable proportion of studies by foreign researchers published in French (Mascilli Migliorini, Higonnet, Kohachiro Takahashi, Elyada, Boulad-Ayoub, etc.).
