OBJECTIVES :
- Gain a better understanding of the issues at stake, for a global vision of risks and levers for change.
- Training in the use of tools for diagnosing and estimating the footprint of our sports and leisure activities/sectors/events.
- Integrate environmental issues into daily professional activity.
- Develop the ability to anticipate, adapt and innovate in the field of physical activity (sport-leisure, sport-professional, sport-health) to meet the ecological and climatic challenges of today and tomorrow.
Skills block 1: Sport, physical activities and the environment: understanding, delimiting and measuring (35 HOURS)
Module 1: Planetary limits, human activities and sport
Module 2: Overview of sport
Module 3: Estimating the carbon footprint of sport and sporting events
Module 4: Sport as a victim of climate change
Skills block 2: Know how to act and build practices that reduce negative impacts and reinforce positive impacts (35 HOURS)
Module 1: Impact mitigation
Module 2: Contribution and influence
Module 3: Adaptation and reinvention
Module 4: Round table debate
Project / Application (8 HOURS)
PUBLICS :
- Sports decision-makers, sports federation executives, organizers of major sporting events,
- Sports infrastructure managers,
- Deputy councillors in charge of the ecological transition or sport, association presidents/players in sports or sport-health structures,
- Teachers in charge of school projects in the French national education system, STAPS teachers and researchers, trainers of civilian or military sports educators,
- CSR managers, R&D engineers for companies in the sports sector,
- Physical activity professionals (STAPS, trainers, AFAPA, actiphysicians and sport-health, State diplomas and sports educators),
- Influential professional sportsmen and sportswomen wishing to promote on a large scale a practice in line with climate and environmental issues.
PREREQUISITES :
Baccalaureate diploma required and a strong foundation of professional or volunteer experience in the world of sport or physical activity.
TERMS OF ENTRY :
Access to academics is limited to 15 places.
Application (CV and covering letter) subject to assessment by the pedagogical board (profile and career plan).

RYTHM :
academics can be taken over 1 or 2 years.
It is possible to take one or more modules à la carte, and/or capitalize on them to obtain the DU over a maximum of 2 years.
ORGANIZATION :
The academics course, divided into 2 skill blocks, runs from January to June, with a final exam scheduled for October/November.
It is based on theoretical and practical courses taught by research professors who are climate experts, research professors who are experts in physical activities, a research professor who is an expert in environmental transition and who has Olympic sports experience, representatives of ministries, committed players (elected representatives, companies in the sports sector, heads of federations, etc.).
EVALUATION AND AWARD PROCEDURES :
A final assessment will take the form of a written report and an oral presentation. The award of the diploma is conditional upon :
- The complete academics curriculum,
- An overall average of at least 10/20.
SPECIFICATIONS OF THE ACADEMICS AND METHODS USED :
- Complementarity of contributors: teacher-researchers with climate expertise, experts in physical activities, experts in environmental transition with Olympic sporting experience, representatives of ministries, committed players (elected representatives, companies in the sporting sector, federal officials, etc.),
- The pace of academics is adjusted to allow the continuation of professional activity,
- Active teaching method, alternating theoretical input and practical exercises,
- Optional internship available (at trainee's initiative).
