Annecy IUT offers 9 University Technology Bachelors (BUT) in the secondary and tertiary sectors.
Opting for a BUT (bac+3, 3rd year courses integrate the majority of professional licenses) is to give yourself the possibility ofimmediate professional integration or further study. The school also offers 7 professional licenses (1 year of study, 60 ECTS) and University Diplomas (DU).
Professional experience is developed through a wide range of work-related situations. Projects are an essential part of our training courses (600 hours). Students must respond to a request from a company or organization.

The academics initial training program is the most traditional formula, giving you student status. Courses and internships are backed up by on-the-job training.
This option is designed for students who wish to progressively move into the world of work.
Students finance their own studies.
Work-study programs are available at academics , enabling students to obtain a BUT or professional license by alternating classes at the IUT with periods spent at the company with which they have signed an apprenticeship or professionalization contract. Work-study students are employees of the host company.
You are or want to be an employee and want to develop or enhance your skills. BUT academics is a promising option for the future. All the indicators are in the green to make this option a choice of excellence, which in no way excludes further study!
The majority of professional bachelor's degrees integrate BUT
Candidates from other training programs can be integrated into the BUT program via gateways, after their application has been analyzed and it has been verified that they have the necessary prerequisites. This system is currently being defined, and information will be available onlineby the end of 2022. Application campaigns will start in January 2023.
Work-study programs are carried out in collaboration with various partners, depending on their specialization, as part of a professionalization or apprenticeship contract. Work-study students are employees of the host company.
You must hold a Baccalaureate
Sport-Etudes sections are aimed at top-level athletes (minimum pre-national level) affiliated to sports federations.
The Musique-Études sections are designed for high-level artists (members of conservatories, music schools, dance schools, etc.).
The BUT is obtained in 4 years instead of the 3 years normally planned. A specific pedagogical follow-up is assured by a specific Director of Studies.
Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional d'Annecy: The Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de l'agglomération d'Annecy et des Pays de Savoie (4000 m²) is located in the heart of Annecy's old town, in a historic building. It offers 90 disciplines in music, dance and theater, organized into 12 teaching departments, from early-learning to academics for amateurs, professional curricula, numerous vocal and instrumental ensembles of all sizes, and supervised amateur workshops.
The Sport-Etudes sections are aimed at high-level sportsmen and women (minimum pre-national level) with a baccalaureate who are members of sports federations.
Information from the GMP department.
- Instrumental or vocal audition: Candidates present a program consisting of two works (or excerpts from works) at the required level (max. total duration: 10 min.). Candidates may perform all or part of the program with their accompanist, or as a group. Candidates may present several specialties. However, in the event of success, only one may be selected.
- Motivational interview
- Oral test of academics and musical analysis, to determine the exact level of each candidate (candidates may bring any documents they have worked on in the past).
- Minimum requirements for music courses:
- Classical, contemporary amplified music and jazz courses: end of Cycle II, Cycle III, (8 to 10 years of practice)
- Sound professions courses: Cycle II in music (6 to 8 years of practice)
- Electroacoustic composition and image composition courses: presentation of a dossier outlining the candidate's background.
In addition to these procedures for all courses, the following must be completed:
- For the sound and image composition course: a specific letter of application, a CV and possibly a recording demo.
- For the electroacoustic composition course: a specific letter of application, a CV and personal sound recordings.
Final admission:
Admission to the Musique-Études program follows acceptance of the student's application by the Annecy IUT, after joint deliberation with the Conservatoire management.
On enrolment, students must pay:

Candidates who can prove that they have previously studied in Cycle III or in a DEM, DEC, DET in a state-controlled establishment (CRD or CRR) may be exempted from these tests (they must provide a certificate).
