Omeka

Omeka is a free digital library management software released under the GPL license.

Omeka makes publishing content simple and flexible. Its basic architecture is very rudimentary, so it can be adapted to the needs of each project by adding modules(plugins) and using visual models(templates).

The software is distributed under a free license, using the LAMP system (Linux Apache, MySQL, PHP). Omeka is available in two versions: the recent Omeka S, geared to the semantic web, and the initial Omeka Classic, based on a digital library schema and mandatory use of Dublin Core.

Development is based on a community of developers and users from IT, libraries, museums and the humanities. The aim of Omeka's creators is to enable users to concentrate on content and interpretation rather than programming.
