academics short / Workshop: Neurodevelopmental disorders in adults: Identification, assessment and diagnosis

Today, we can be concerned to note the absence of academics on the late diagnosis of Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD)Whether at university or in French-speaking academics organizations. Yet, for several years now, scientific literature has highlighted the fact that NDT does not stop with advancing age. On the contrary, people's functional handicap evolves according to their environment and their external and internal resources. It is therefore urgent to train professionals to reassess people diagnosed in childhood. It is also vital that they are able to diagnose adults late in life. There are many people with undiagnosed disabilities, and their symptoms have a major impact on their quality of life. They are at greater risk of developing psychiatric disorders during their lives, and the absence of appropriate support entails greater costs for society. Through these modules at academics, we'll be taking a closer look at Autism Spectrum Disorders without or with mild intellectual disability, Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity (ADHD), Tourette's Syndrome, chronic or temporary tics, and mild intellectual disability.
