Re3Data (Registry of Research Data Repositories) is a tool that provides researchers, funding agencies, libraries and publishers with an overview of existing international research data repositories.

Re3Data is a directory of research data warehouses in all scientific disciplines. It currently indexes over 3,000 data warehouses worldwide.

Each warehouse is described by precise metadata, the quality of which is checked regularly: manually when thewarehouse is registered and each time a modification is requested, but also automatically (periodic verification that the warehouse url is working, for example).

In addition to the metadata describing the warehouse, re3data offers a icon system very practical, as they provide an overview of the warehouse's characteristics at a glance (see figures in this article). Overall, the more colored icons, the more reliable the warehouse.
