What is the PeiP preparatory cycle?

The Parcours des écoles d'ingénieurs Polytech (PeiP) is a 2-year preparatory cycle that enables students to enter one of the schools in the Polytech network. The PeiP is organized in partnership with the Sciences et Montagne academics unit ofUniversité Savoie Mont Blanc, in the Sciences, Technology, Health degree program. Validation of the PeiP qualifies students for the L2 level.

An identified and secure pathway to engineering school

Teaching supported by theUniversité Savoie Mont Blanc's Bachelor's degree programs
academics in a human-sized school, with classes of no more than 30 students
Specific Polytech courses, individual support and an insight into the world of industry
Direct and automatic access to a school in the Polytech network for students who have completed the two years of PeiP.

THE PEIP PREPARATORY CYCLE IN PRACTICE

ACADEMICS ORGANIZATION

■ The first 3 semesters of the program focus on academics in basic and engineering sciences
■ A minimum 4-week work placement is carried out between semesters 2 and 3
■ The final semester is open-ended, with a choice of 3 main areas of focus:
Engineering sciences and computer science: Annecy and Chambéry
Physical chemistry: Chambéry
Mechanical technology: Annecy and Chambéry

SPECIFIC TEACHINGS

Train students in the techniques needed to understand the engineering profession, and gain a better understanding of corporate organization.

Group work is developed through supervised personal assignments in areas such as construction, sustainable development, energy, mechanics, instrumentation and new information and communication technologies:

■ Energy autonomy in a mountain refuge
■ Clean vehicles
■ Wood in construction
■ Composite materials in the automotive sector
■ Waste recovery in a resort waste
■ Bracing in the building industry
■ Service robotics
■ Virtual and augmented reality
■ Connected objects
■ Solar cookers
■ Ministanks

Engineering courses at Polytech Annecy-Chambéry :

The PeiP also gives access to all the specialties offered by the schools in the Polytech network, with the exception of a few bio-based specialties.
If you don't pass the PeiP, you can go on to study for a bachelor's degree is possible.
