What is the PeiP preparatory cycle?

The Polytech Engineering School Program (PeiP) is a two-year general preparatory course that allows students to enter the engineering program at one of the schools in the Polytech network.

A clearly defined and secure path at the engineering school

  • Fundamental science education linked to bachelor's degree programs
  • Specific Polytech courses, individual support, and exposure to the industrial world
  • Training in a small school, with tutorials for no more than 30 students
  • Direct and automatic access to an engineering specialization within the Polytech network for students who have successfully completed two years of PeiP.

TRAINING ORGANIZATION

The preparatory cycle is taught at three locations:

  • At the Annecy and Bourget-du-Lac campuses, the program is linked to the first two years of the Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, and Health at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB).
  • At the Papeete (Tahiti) site, the program is linked to the first two years of the Bachelor's degree in Engineering Sciences at the University of French Polynesia (UPF) and lasts two years, with the first three semesters at UPF and the last semester at USMB.

The choice of training location is made via Parcoursup for post-baccalaureate entry and via the admission procedure for Bac + 1 applications. Regardless of the location assigned, validation of the PeiP allows students to obtain the L2 level.

SPECIFIC COURSES

Train students in techniques for understanding the engineering profession and gaining a better understanding of how the company is organized.

Group work is developed through supervised personal projects in the fields of construction, sustainable development, energy, mechanics, instrumentation, and new information and communication technologies, such as:

  • Energy independence for a mountain refuge
  • Clean vehicles
  • Wood in construction
  • Composite materials in the automotive sector
  • Waste recovery at stations
  • Bracing in buildings
  • Service robotics
  • Virtual reality and augmented reality
  • Connected objects
  • The solar cooker
  • Mini sailboats

Other specific courses

  • Industrial engineering
  • Company visits
  • Techniques of expression
  • English
  • An internship in a company, lasting a minimum of 4 weeks, is carried out between semesters 2 and 3.
