CLARIN (Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure) is a European consortium of research infrastructures, accredited as ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium), created in 2012 to share language resources and tools at European level.

It includes national consortia inside and outside the European Union, made up of institutes such as universities, research centers, libraries and public archives. The aim of the consortium is to provide access to digital language data collections, digital tools and materials from academics so that researchers can work with language resources.

France joined the European CLARIN infrastructure as an observer in 2017. TGIR Huma-Num is coordinating French participation in CLARIN activities, drawing on the CORLI consortium supported by Huma-Num.

CLARIN resources are useful to all disciplines in the Humanities and Social Sciences, although the main users are in the fields of linguistics and automatic language processing.
CLARIN is particularly aimed at European researchers, but is widely open to other communities (e.g. research outside Europe, citizens, journalists, etc.).
