The Laboratoire d'Annecy de Physique des Particules (LAPP ) is organizing a conference-debate entitled "The life and death of stars" as part of its "Mercredis du LAPP" program.The life and death of stars"which will take place December 13, 2023 from 6pm to 7pm at the LAPP premises on the Annecy campus.. Prior to the conference, it will be possible to visit theEUTOPIA discovery space from 5pm for privileged exchanges with the scientists.
About the conference-debate
Like all evolving structures in the universe, a star is formed, lives and disappears by transforming, usually very violently, into exotic objects such as white dwarfs, neutron stars or black holes. We'll describe these transformations and the different stages in a star's life, illustrating some related physics concepts.
The conference will be presented by Damir Buskulic, professor at LAPP and USMB.
