Preparing for the post-thesis period as early as possible
Choosing which profession to pursue after the final exam, and in which sector of activity, is an important decision. It must be made after considering the various options, and after working on oneself to get to know oneself better and be able to project oneself into the future.
A doctorate is an asset for many professions, in both the public and private sectors. academics through research enables the development of numerous transferable skills that are useful and appreciated, even outside the research profession.
As far as academic careers are concerned, a thesis enables PhDs to apply for lecturer posts at universities (don't forget that you need to be qualified to apply!), and for research posts at the CNRS, as well as other research organizations (INRAe, INRIA, CEA...).
