MT180 doctoral finalists from the Grenoble Academy will be on stage at Malraux, Chambéry's national stage, for the 11th edition of the Ma thèse en 180 secondes international competition. A scientific and fun evening, free and open to all with registration(link to ticketing)!

A SCIENTIFIC SHOW AND A FIRST EDITION IN SAVOIE!

Université Savoie Mont Blanc is once again taking part the great national adventure of Ma Thèse en 180 secondesalongside Grenoble Alpes University. Traditionally organized in Grenoble for previous editions, the final of the Grenoble Academy - 2024 Edition is hosted for the first time on the Savoie Mont Blanc territory byUniversité Savoie Mont Blanc. The event is co-organized byUniversité Savoie Mont Blanc, Université Grenoble Alpes and CNRS Alpes, and supported by numerous partners.

As a reminder, this competition invites volunteer doctoral students to take up the following challenge: present their thesis topic in 3 minutes only in front of a professional jury and a non-specialist audience, in simple, understandable and convincing terms!
The aim of the evening? To offer you a unique scientific show, in an original format for popularizing science! Ma Thèse en 180 secondes is an event that promotes access to and understanding of science for all.

ACADEMIC FINAL OUT OF 16, ONLY 2 WILL REMAIN

After local pre-selections organized byUniversité Savoie Mont Blanc and Université Grenoble Alpes, 16 finalists were selected to take part in the the Grenoble academy final onThursday March 14 ! We look forward to seeing you there to support the 16 candidates who will be competing for a place in the national semi-final. À at theend of the evening, the public and the jury will select the 2 winners who will go on to represent Grenoble in the national semi-final in April 2024! Your vote counts! The evening will also be broadcast live on the USMB YouTube channel.

THE EVENING PROGRAM

On March 14, 2024, the finalists will be evaluated by a jury chaired by Gabriele Fioni, Deputy Rector of Higher Education, Research and Innovation for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes academic region, and made up of Claire Cattaadministrator of Malraux scène nationale de Chambéry, Guillaume KreziakPresident of the USMB Foundation and CEO of Pfeiffer Vacuum France, Lise Barnéoudscience journalist (member of the AJSPI network) and author, andEmilie Boucher, 2023 MT180 finalist for the Grenoble Academy.

A Gypsy musical interlude will be presented on the Malraux stage by the group Magie Tzigane!

At the end of the 16 candidates' performances, the jury will be invited to deliberate, and you, the public, to vote for your favorite finalist!

The winners of the 1st Jury Prize and the People's Choice Award will then represent the Grenoble Academy at the national semi-final in Paris on March 28 and 29, where they will compete for places in the national final on June 5, 2024 (in Nice) and then in the international final in November 2024 in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire)!
