In his second one-man show, with a title inspired by a Dalida song, Vincent Dedienne no longer talks about himself. He invites onto the stage a bevy of crunchy characters, sometimes so obnoxious that they're perfectly delightful! And, between two bursts of point-blank fire, he offers us furtive moments of great humanity. By examining the syndromes of our contemporaries, he finds material for irresistible caricatures: from the retiree who goes to celebrity funerals, to the bourgeois woman with deep-seated social contempt, to the high-potential little girl in despair over her father's remarriage. All are at once hilarious and a little terrifying. Reflecting an era, these archetypes are truly scathing!
Un soir de gala won the Molière de l'humour 2022; Vincent Dedienne has given us a masterclass... Hats off!
