Thanks to its partnership with the association l'Espace Larithassociation, the USMB invites you to a time ofn exceptional exchange with Italian artist Martina Gagliardi. This is an opportunity to discover her works, exhibited at Espace Larith from October 23 to December 4, and to discuss her inspirations and her creative process.

Meet us on November 17, 6-7pm, at Espace Larith, Chambéry.

Exchanges will take place in Italian, accompanied by an interpreter.

A time of mediation reserved exclusively for USMB students and pupils from the Institut de academics en Soins Infirmiers (IFSI) in Chambéry and Annecy. Funded by the Contribution à la vie étudiante et de campus (CVEC).

About the artist

Martina Gagliardi (Alba, 1996) is a young emerging artist with a degree in painting from the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin. Her research begins with the observation of raw materials and the analysis of their transformation and deterioration processes.

Her arrival in the city of Turin was decisive for her experience and observation of the large fruit and vegetable market of Porta Palazzo, from which she developed reflections on the process of metamorphosis of produce: from fresh arrival in a box to transformation into deteriorated waste. Here, the beauty found in the fragility and imperfect evolution of things has made them special at the very moment of their disappearance.

For me, these unbalanced crates, these wilted vegetables already unwrapped, are emblems of rebirth, not death. Art is precisely this possibility of resurrection, of rewriting the world (...) At dawn, the market shows the strength of merchandise; at dusk, on the contrary, all its fragility. This could well serve as a metaphor for human life.
