"Place - Theatre

Thanks to its partnership with theEspace Malraux Scène Nationale (Chambéry), the USMB can offer you free or discounted tickets to shows all year round! On Friday November 17 at 8pm, the university invites you to attend the theater show "Place".

Free places are available, reserved exclusively for USMB students and pupils from the Institut de academics en Soins Infirmiers (IFSI) in Chambéry and Annecy. Funded by the Contribution à la vie étudiante et de campus (CVEC).

ABOUT THE SHOW

Drawing on her own experience, French-Iraqi author Tamara Al Saadi recounts the experience of Yasmine's character, her arrival in France and her struggle to find "her place" there.

This play tells the story of a young Iraqi girl who arrives in France at the age of 5, torn between two cultures and two personalities: on the threshold, uprooted, a stranger in the eyes of others, how does she fit in and find her place? We follow Yasmine's arrival in Paris and her path to adulthood. An incessant back-and-forth between a family unit trapped in a frozen space-time, Baghdad, the war, memories... and an unfamiliar French society, which she has to discover on her own.

Blending intimate storytelling with geopolitics, Place recounts the feeling that "foreigners" sometimes have of never being in the right place, in the right way. Simple and luminous.
