Student Waste Reduction Week - Jacob Campus

From November 20 to 24It's Student Waste Reduction Week (SERD ) on the 3 USMB campuses! It's a time for exchanges and events to learn about good practices for better consumption, better production, longer product life and, above all, less waste. This year, the national theme is packaging.

DIY creative workshops, sports fairs, exhibitions, carpooling competitions, information stands, screenings/debates, eco-friendly recipes and more. A rich and varied program awaits you on each campus to learn how to adapt your daily production and consumption of packaging.

Totem of Ecology
All week long in building 20 EVE
Thematic exhibition, Espace Vie Étudiante, building 20.
Let's change the way we think about the environment! This Totem raises awareness and teaches us simple methods for preserving Ecology (food, waste, waste management, energy management, soft mobility, etc.).

Nunnery
All week long in building 20 EVE
Donnerie is a free space on campus for students and staff to raise awareness of and promote access to second-hand clothing and accessories.

BEE WRAP Workshop
Monday, November 20, 2023, Room 19001 from 12:15pm to 1:15pm
DIY will hold no more secrets for you!
Using fabric and beeswax, these wraps will enable you to transport and preserve food without using aluminum foil or cling film. It's zero waste, virtually zero budget and ... super easy to make!
Do-it-yourself means learning to repair, reuse, waste less and reduce waste.

Cooking workshop, Making spreads

Palm oil is known for its negative impact on the environment.
As spreads contain a lot of oil and sugar, this workshop aims to understand the problems linked to the use of palm oil.

Amphi'Propre
Tuesday 21/11 to Thursday 23/11/23 between 10am and 2pm
Garbage collection in amphitheaters 1, 2, 3, 19000 and 23/24 during breaks and/or between courses by students. Sorting garbage cans available at amphitheatre entrances and exits. Make a simple gesture and receive a surprise!

Information & awareness-raising stand on waste management and other topics
Wednesday November 22, 2023, Parvis building 20 from 12 noon
In order to encourage campus users to dispose of their waste via a sorting garbage can on a daily basis, mass communication on the subject of recycling and sustainable development should be encouraged... via various media such as posters, stickers, internal company newsletters, e-mailings, etc.

CLEANWALK N° 1
Wednesday, November 22, 2023, Parvis building 20 from 12 noon
An action that will have a tangible impact on our environment and raise awareness of our littering problems. Let's act together.
Program:
12:00 to 12:30: Welcome, distribution of equipment, reminder of instructions, academics teams
12:30 pm to 2 pm: Waste collection
2pm to 3pm: Sorting of collected waste, weighing, snack and prize-giving.
