28th Geo'rizon study day

The 28th Géo'rizon© study day, organized by the Geography & Planning Department of theUFR Sciences et Montagne atuniversité Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB), will be held on Thursday December 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Decottignies amphitheatre, at the USMB Presidency, rue Marcoz, Chambéry. The event, open to students and the general public, will focus on the theme of "A votre santé!"

Admission is free and open to all. Health pass required.

On the program:

As in previous editions, four speakers from other universities will take part in the day's events, before taking part in the final round-table discussion:

  • 8:30am - 9:50am: Economic emergence and new health risks: the case of India by Virginie CHASLES, University Professor of Geography, Université Jean Monnet - Saint-Etienne
  • 10:15 - 11:35: Are there really any specific health issues for migrants in France? by Anne-Cécile HOYEZ, CNRS Research Fellow, UMR ESO / Université Rennes 2
  • 1.45pm - 3.05pm: Ebola, geography of a health crisis: socio-spatial issues in Sub-Saharan Africa, by Clélia GASQUET-BLANCHARD, Senior Lecturer in Geography, Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Santé Publique
  • 15h25 - 16h45: Health, environment and urban planning: re-emerging challenges for territories, by Hélène CHARREIRE, Senior Lecturer in Geography, Université Paris-Est Créteil / IUF
  • 4.55pm - 5.30pm: Round-table discussion with the speakers
