ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Plants, attached to their substrate, are known to produce a rich diversity of chemical molecules that are specific to them. Today, numerous scientific studies are seeking to unlock the secret of this chemical language and understand its role in our environment. These molecules enable plants to respond to environmental changes, defend themselves against attacks by parasites or insects, and communicate with other organisms in the environment. For example, mosses interact with other plants and micro-organisms in peat bogs, aquatic plants with each other in lakes, and cultivated plants with competing or companion species. This chemical language of plants, present in all ecosystems and agrosystems, is rich and surprising: many fundamental and applied discoveries await us!
