About the conference

Despite significant weight loss and a slimmer body, people suffering from anorexia nervosa generally feel fatter than they are. More surprisingly, they move as if this were actually the case. Despite their opposite weight problems, recent research suggests a parallel between obesity and anorexia nervosa. Patients suffering from obesity also exhibit major weight variations, associated with body overestimation and atypical movements. What common dysfunctions could contribute to the over-dimensioning of body representation in these two pathologies? This will lead us to discuss our brain's blindness to major body modifications.
