ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Public services are a vital part of French society, and are constantly evolving. Whether you're an employee of a private company or a civil servant, changes in the public service concern us all, since we are first and foremost its users. Among these changes, one in particular echoes the possible "death" of public service: privatization. At the heart of presidential campaigns
political speeches and popular conversations, privatization is a divisive issue. The aim of this conference is to review the preconceptions surrounding this phenomenon. The different conceptions of privatization show the real impact on both public services and the civil service. Comparisons are presented to analyze the results of privatization abroad and their possible transposition into French law. If privatization seems to herald the "death" of the French public service, what is the reality? Extinction or renewal?
