The conference "Landscapes from yesterday to today: sensitive and digital approaches", presented by Dominique Pety, university professor at the Laboratoire Langages, Littératures, Sociétés - Études transfrontalières et Internationales (LLSETI), UFR Lettres, Langues et Sciences Humaines, will take place on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 6pm at La Turbine Sciences in Cran-Gevrier (entrance via La Turbine cinema).

It will also be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 6 p.m. in Chambéry.

Conferences will take place subject to health conditions linked to the Coronovirus epidemic (COVID-19) and in compliance with the safety instructions in force at the venue hosting the event.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The landscape paintings in our museums, the engravings in old books, but also the photographs of today's landscapes, can be found on our telephone or computer screens. How does this change our relationship with landscapes? Are landscapes becoming closer, in these images at our fingertips? Do their sometimes radical transformations strike us more, when we access a whole series of photographs of the same landscape? Aren't we also witnessing, with online images, a new formatting in the representation of landscapes?

We will attempt to answer these questions by presenting various digital devices, including photographic landscape observatories, on the occasion of the publication of the book Representing landscapes yesterday and today. Approches sensibles et numériques (late 2019, Presses Universitaires Savoie Mont Blanc, LLSETI, collection "Patrimoines", edited by Dominique Pety, Hélène Schmutz and Pascal Bouvier).
