About the conference

In essence, animal life produces waste, and organic waste is intrinsically linked to life. From the dawn of the urbanization process, alongside the supply of water, food and energy, waste disposal has been one of the fundamental problems to be managed by a densifying humanity. The use of dejecta as an organic soil improver goes hand in hand with the emergence of agriculture. Selective collection of materials for recycling only increases the proportion of organic waste in what remains. Methanization is developing and contributing to energy autonomy. On a local or individual scale, composting not only provides an organic amendment, but also creates social links. If selective collection of organic waste develops, what will be left to incinerate? A historical, geographical and geopolitical overview of the treatment of our organic waste!
