Café science - Climate transition: what can we do?

october 13, 2022 20:00 - october 13, 2022 22:00

The Café science, proposed by the association Sciences-Actions, on the theme "Climate transition: how to act?", will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the MJC in Chambéry.

The Cafés Science are an opportunity for the general public to discuss, in a convivial atmosphere, with experts, researchers and professionals, a wide range of subjects, often of topical interest. They are organized by the Science-Actions association, in collaboration withuniversité Savoie Mont Blanc, the city of Chambéry, the Astrée cinema and Chambéry's MJC.

ABOUT THE DEBATE

With global temperatures rising by just over one degree, the consequences of global warming are already being felt. Heatwaves, melting glaciers and other extreme climatic events are all signs that action is urgently needed.

The IPCC warns of the need to drastically reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, otherwise global warming could reach several degrees by the end of the century.

Committing to the climate transition means rethinking the way we live, consume and produce. Energy, buildings, transport... Global warming is forcing changes in all sectors.

What are the initiatives at local and global level? Are certain innovations helping to combat global warming? How can we raise awareness of this vital issue for tomorrow's world? tomorrow's world ? What can we do as individual citizens?
