The Science Café, organized by the Sciences-Actions association, on the theme "Climate transition: how can we take action?" will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the MJC in Chambéry.

Science Cafés allow the general public to discuss a variety of topics, often related to current events, with experts, researchers, and professionals in a friendly atmosphere. They are organized by the Science-Actions association, in collaboration with the University of Savoie Mont Blanc, the city of Chambéry, the Astrée cinema, and the MJC de Chambéry.

ABOUT THE DEBATE

With global temperatures rising by just over one degree, the consequences of global warming are already being felt. Heat waves, melting glaciers, and other extreme weather events are all signs that urgent action is needed.

The IPCC warns of the need to drastically reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, otherwise global warming could reach several degrees by the end of the century.

Committing to climate transition means rethinking our lifestyles, consumption patterns, and production methods. Energy, construction, transportation... Global warming requires change in all sectors.

What initiatives are being taken at the local and global levels? Are certain innovations helping to combat global warming? How can we raise awareness of this vital issue for tomorrow's world? tomorrow ? How can we take action at our level as citizens?
