The Sciences-Actions association's "À l'ombre des glaciers alpins" (In the shadow of Alpine glaciers) science film will take place on February 23, 2023 at 8:30pm at the Cinéma Astrée in Chambéry.
ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY
Inaccessible, clinging to mountain peaks far from the hustle and bustle of human activity, they were thought to be eternal. Yet glaciers are the first victims of galloping climate change. During their gap year, three students and friends (Mathieu Cretet, Guillem Carcanade, Clement Valla) crossed the Alps from France to Austria, surveying the slopes of Alpine glaciers to support glaciologists in their work and meet local stakeholders concerned by glacier retreat. A car-free adventure, from the Écrins massif to the Austrian Tyrol, to better understand the cascade of consequences generated by glacial retreat and to imagine the paths to take to build a desirable future.
