The science film "In the Shadow of Alpine Glaciers," presented by the Sciences-Actions association, will be shown on February 23, 2023, at 8:30 p.m. at the Cinéma Astrée in Chambéry.
ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY
Inaccessible, clinging to mountain peaks far from the hustle and bustle of human activity, they were thought to be eternal. Yet glaciers are the first victims of rampant climate change. During their break, three students and friends (Mathieu Cretet, Guillem Carcanade, Clement Valla) crossed the Alps from France to Austria, hiking the slopes of the Alpine glaciers to assist glaciologists in their work and meet local people affected by glacier retreat. A car-free adventure from the Écrins massif to the Austrian Tyrol to better understand the cascade of consequences caused by glacial retreat and imagine ways to build a desirable future.
