From June 27 to July 1, 2018, the Environnements, Dynamiques et Territoires de la Montagne (EDYTEM) laboratory is organizing an international karstology symposium to mark the 40th anniversary of the Association Française de Karstologie and in tribute to Richard Maire.
The symposium will provide an opportunity for participants to exchange views on karst and caves.
The program
A kick-off workshop for the CNRS "Milieux souterrains et karst" (Underground environments and karst) trades network will be held before the symposium.
A field trip to the Bauges karst will be organized on Thursday, June 28, 2018, with departure from Le Bourget-du-Lac the day before in the late afternoon and overnight stay on site. Similarly, a field trip is planned to the Platé karst, in a reduced format (30 places) and subject to booking.
Friday afternoon will be devoted to a special event: the award of theUniversité Savoie Mont Blanc medal to Yves Quinif, geochemist and karst geologist from the Polytechnic Faculty of Mons in Belgium.
